With lots of churches sharing their sermons via YouTube and other services, one may listen to sermons all week long! It’s a silver-lining to an otherwise troubled time.
I listen to sermons from Louie Giglio and Ben Stuart from Passion City Church in Atlanta and Washington D. C.
I listen to local pastors putting sermons on YouTube. I am thankful to God for YouTube. I am concerned about how much longer YouTube will allow sermons because YouTube is actively silencing many voices that share messages that are consistent with a certain worldview; a worldview held by many Christians.
Time will tell.
One thing to keep in mind: God used the diaspora circa 70 AD to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ around the world, and YouTube did not exist until 14 Feb 2005. Does God need YouTube to spread His Truth? Not at all. God the Holy Spirit has inspired writers for millennia to capture His Word in writing in the Bible.
You can access the Bible online in many places (at the time of this writing). One of my favorite places to listen to or read God’s Word is YouVersion. I have the app on my droid and I can listen to God’s Word every single day.
Remember, God’s Word will accomplish what He sends it to do:
As the rain and the snowIsaiah 55:10-12 (NIV), emphasis added
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
You will go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills
will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
will clap their hands.
Take comfort, Christian, during these days.
